Bought cheap tires once........only the initial cost was cheap, I will never ever buy cheap crap junk tires again, you get what you pay for and I got it and won't ever do it again.

I will pay for piece of mind. Michelin's on my wheels keeps me from think about dellamination, sudden sidewall failure or any kind of rapid deflation. Sure, these things can and do happen to even the most expensive tires but the odds are greatly reduced. At least in my mind and probably statistics wise also.

I guess ... better new china tires than very bad used that they are selling at truck stops countrywide.
I see many guys cant afford pay new tires even the chines one. :)

What is the rolling resistance on these cheap tires? Its terrible, doubt you can even find the stats though. Id bet your losing money in fuel by using cheap tires in the long run. Look at the big picture.BTW I have Michelin XDA Energys as drives, 200k miles in and should make it close to 200k more. Cost around 400$ and change each, through company program.

@Eso, me being a freshman has nothing to do with the price of Chinese tires in America. My thinking is embedded in the brain for any vehicle I am driving and has been for the 30yrs I have taken a wheel in my hand. Grandfather preached it and I listened.

I understand where you are coming from though, completely. It's just not in me to buy cheap tires. Can't do it. I am fortunate that I am a company driver and don't have to shell out $ for tires but I also don't get the fortune of choosing my tires either. I get what the mechanic buys. Virgins, caps whatever brand. I also only do 200-250mi a day. So it's a little different scenario than yours is.
