I hear ya... But if your drives arent lasting at least 200k and your not doing some specialty work(offroad or heavyhaul) then its possible there is other issues with the truck? 3 axle alignment? shocks? bearings?
Cheap tires !!!

In this case its huge different...
I am O/O and I have to find a cheap tires, cheap fuel, cheap shop...or work for free.
There will be no money on the end of month if I dont do that.
You as company driver of course its better for you to get brand new truck and the best tires... and as all (almost all) company drivers you don't care how much it cost.
I understand you completely
Be safe my friend
I have to go to rest
Early deliveryMattnatti Thanks this. -
I dont know...bearings checked month ago...alignment ok...shocks new...bushings 4 months ago done.
No idea why -
Ive been O/O 4+ years now... got the tires through the company i was leased to at the time(werner). I am leased to Landstar now Pretty sure i can get another good deal thru them when its time. You say cheap fuel hehe paid 3.37 at T/A earlier today.. pump price was 3.76 LOVE that.
-
I know..I have friend works with Landstar...you have good deals on tires and good discount on fuel...I have some discount on fuel too but still expensive ... tires I can use national acct wit CR England but I don't.
Rather cheap and change every year ... -
The national account at CRE is probably just like Werners. They couldnt tell me what the price of the tires was going to be until I already owned them lol. I had bought a couple steers here and there thru the same natl acct though and was getting almost 200$ off the out the door price so i assumed it would be similar and it was.

Brand new truck?..... Not! My truck is older than yours. Not a OTR tractor but still older than yours. Best tires?.......Not! My truck currently has at least four different brand tires on it. That is mechanics choice not mine. I will try to change that as currently I have six tractor tires near illegal and need new skins before winter. As a company driver I do care for the cost as every needless dollar spent by the company can keep me from getting a raise, benefits etc.
you rest well Eso, and be safe also. -
"....hat is mechanics choice not mine. I will try to change that as currently I have six tractor tires near illegal#"....but you are driving this truck not your mechanic ...if something happened you will be responsible. Be careful
My are made in china but they are NEW. And its MY choice.
Thanks...good nightMattnatti Thanks this. -
I dont install chines tires on steer...just on drive and on trailer.
-
I hear ya, like I said. I will change that. I might not get virgin Michelin traction dives or Yokohama steers but I will get new tires very soon.
You are making the best choice for you and your trucks livelihood and that is understandable. Best of luck to you and I hope the Chinese tires stay in one piece until they are bald.
