I'm not choice yet but currently trying to. I've got Verizon and have a grandfathered in unlimited data plan, $30 per month. I use to use pdanet app on my phone to connect to my laptop via usb and use the internet off my phone for free. Unfortunately I can't get it to work on my new phone so I just added Verizon hotspot to my unlimited data plan, should be a lot nice to just connect to a WiFi signal rather then use a usb cable all the time. Unlimited data plan is like $30, hotspot is an additional $30 per month.

Downside is I can't get any free upgrades without losing my unlimited plan, I have to pay full price for a new phone.

Also, I use 50-80 gigs per month. I stream Pandora or Sirius all day while driving, and watch YouTube or Netflix while stopped. I'm glad I've still got the grandfathered unlimited data plan!

I've got a dedicated Sirius radio and the big antenna for it. The constant lost signal fuzz sound annoys the hell out of me. Its basically useless while driving through mountains or cities with bridges. Only time I ever turn it on is when I'm in the middle of nowhere with no cell signal. Then it seems to work well.

You don't need much processor power to work the load board. If your Toshiba is currently fast enough for you then the load board isn't going to slow it down. If anything I'd consider upgrading your laptop to an ssd drive if it's not currently using one. That's the best single upgrade you can do to a older laptop. Anyways I use a full size 17" hp laptop w/windows 8.1 in addition to a Verizon branded Samsung Note Pro (android) with a 12" screen. I like the laptop for the "hard core" load board work like when I'm trying to book a full weeks worth of running at once. I have a Verizon phone and I use the built-in hot spot app to get online when using the laptop. OTOH I like the Note Pro for when I'm just watching for say one specific load to complete. I grab the tablet and go whenever I'm out of the truck throughout the day since it has the Verizon chip already installed and is virtually online all the time so it's quick to check the loads. The good loads don't last long. Guess that's about all I got....
