A little local humor there. A very respected pillar of the community received medical attention for ceiling fan injuries due to the cape of his batman costume getting hung up. He was in a motel with some one that wasn't his wife but a paid subsitute. So at the round table at the cafe thats our little joke. "Did you wear your Batman costume last night?"

As opposed to this one that I took off with on Friday. This place has never done this badly. I dropped my empty the day before and picked it up loaded and sealed already. Bills said 39k (should have put me at about 75k gross) so I slid the axles back to about 40' where my drive air pressure looked good and hit the road. On I-85NB along the way to my usual fuel stop at the Spartanburg TA, I got the usual red light at the Lavonia scale and got the bypass lane. SC scale was open too. They put me on the platform for a long minute then a green light.
When I stopped for fuel, the voices in my head told me I better weigh before filling up to 300 gal capacity from just over 1/4 tank. On the way up it felt a little trailer heavy too, so what the heck.
Apparently the Jedi mind trick worked again. "This is not the truck you are looking for."
So actual cargo wt was more like 43k. I guess that chicken was packed in steel boxes. Axles moved out to about 45' to get it legal. Of course when I opened the doors at the consignee, the trailer was loaded from the rooter to the tooter.
Fuel put me up to 79,860. Just enough to make it to the Brookville, PA TA on just under 1/8 tank after delivering. Along the way, the Charlotte scale "closed" sign lit up as I was about 50' from passing it. The second NC scale right before Fancy Gap was recently closed as well (trucks still in there). VA on I-77 closed too, and all the rest area scales in WV and PA took the day off too. I must be living right.Rocks Thanks this. -

Then I show up at Americold for a load to Crete , NE and the lady tells me I didnt have a appointment. Lol
Sooo my work day consisted of about 18 hrs yesterday for nothing !!!
I have really got to get myself out of this reefer business and soon before I go crazy from sitting around doing nothing.
