If I can sleep and not be bothered, the only other things that matter are edible food and clean showers. I have found many stops I like, including the large chains. The fairly new Flyin' J in Dothan, AL is pretty nice(for the south) and there's one in Wisconsin I really liked too, I think Black River Falls, off 94. Generally, of the chain versions I prefer Petro, but I also like the T/A nobody else seems to in Sparks, NV.

No real favorite for me. Haven't been able to get to repeat stop very much, running all over the place.

Btw, are we stepping over an edge bringing this old thread back from the dead??? Heh

the pilot in rising fawn ga is very large for a pilot and always seems to have plenty of parking.
there is also a pilot in oregon right along the river, it is small but ther view is really nice.

the pilot in birmingham AL. at arkadelphia rd is a craphole.
the pilot at exit 472 in dallas is crack/prostitute city!

the TA on I95 at ther NH- ME. state line is small and always crowded 24-7
the flying J at exit 323 in VA. is small with too narrow of isles, very hard to get in a single spot.

my best: The Bosie stage stop exit 71 on I-84, Pollard flat ca on I-5 in the canyon, west winds on I-40 green river ut,
my worst: the old Giant outside Gallup NM at the refinery exit, bought out by Pilot and turned to crap! Any truck stop south of Sacramento. Although the pilot on 99 isn't too bad if you can get there earley enough. all truck stops in L.A. :smt072:smt068

The Shell in Sumner Washington, truck fuel stop, gas station store. there are about 15 or so truck spaces there, but they charge you 10 dollars for 8 or 10 hours to park even if you want to park for only an hour they charge you, if you dont have that 10 dollar receipt in your window they are banging on your truck and you will pay or go, other wise the a hole calls the cops. and theres no other places but maybe on the street where you can park if its not all full or find an off- on ramp to park and sleep. the state of washington sucks for truck stops going west from ellensburg.

really? i drop my trailer off there and live just down the road. Do you like the "entertainment" in the back too? LOL # WV girls.

Anyway, they give decent service, but I haven't eaten in the restaurant (or showered there) It struck me as dirty looking. Was it any good? The place down the road has awesome BBQ and truck parking.

Yeah, that Liberty is always on the CB trying to get business.

I got stuck in Pine Bluff Ark last week and had to stay at the truck stop on I530 just north of Pine bluff, it was a dump and the 2 truck stops in Pine bluff are dumps too. One is next to a Public Housing Project and the other next to a Prison.

I did stay at the Petro in Monee Illinois and I like that place. I am kind of partial to Illinois and Michian because I love the way the girls talk up there. I spend alot of time picking up in Chicago and Detroit and I must say that I hate Chicago so much that I love it...if that makes sense!

hey, as far as wawa goes, they are small chain store pretty much based in pa nj md and va.... they are small local convience stores for the locals, they are based out of Wawa Pa.
since i happen to a no a someone from wawa, the reason that wawa has just a few truck parking spots is because they are woking on possiable building a wawa truck stop. as far as the freash food, and fruits, and vggies go they are known for that. thats what makes them the best place to go, you can pretty much order anything u want, i am from philly, and the fist thing i do when i get home is go right to the wawa around he corner, get me a hoagie..aka cold sub, i def recomend going to wawa website, and writing a quick letter suggestion they build a wawa truck stop.... i do it all the tme, cause thats what my friend told me to do, and they will read your email.

Dude, stop it, I am getting ready to leave and go get me an 8inch hoagie Turkey and Cheese, with bacon, lettuce, pickles, salt and pepper and chipotle style ranch dressing...lol. God grief I LOVE WAWA...there are two of them within 10 miles of me here in Southern Maryland...the next best thing is Sheetz! Nothing beats a Shmagel Sandwich in the morning!

The How-Dea Truck Stop in Belgium, WI (on I-43 south of Green Bay) has a gravel lot, but charges five bucks for a shower, and you can walk to the Hobo Kitchen and get a truly great burger and fries for 7 bucks.

Sapp has a good one on I-80 in western PA, with a nice big lot and good food.

I'll shoot myself in the head before I stay at the TA in Bloomsbury, NJ again.
