Abandonment question

Just send a message to your DM that you quit. You also have to think about future employers outside the trucking industry.

Example:

If I say owned a bank. And you came to me for employment. And I found out you abandoned another companies equipment. Your application would quickly find its way to the circle file.

was in your shoes but i lived with mommy and daddy and still do i stuck it out after my first 5months with sni i brought the truck back to the

yard and quit and went to knight to run local out of the rail yards. i hated that and quit after a month and went into food delivery then quit

that after 2 years and went into ltl. when you start the pay sucks and you feel horrible it can be depressing being alone and making walmart

money. my advice is to atleast bring the truck back. then year dac will be fine and if you choose to continue in this industry you can.

the pay does get better over time and if you live near a big city you can get home more often

You really need to try and get the truck to a terminal at any cost and however long it takes. It costs them a lot of money and hassle to retrieve an abandoned truck and will perhaps come after you for it in a variety of ways. They'd rather get you to a terminal and let you empty your truck since your set on quitting.

 

Dude, stick it out to at least 6 months, either that or you need to put the heat on your dispatcher ... don't do it while you are in an angry mind frame, be calm, tell them if they do not get you some decent loads and at least say 2400 miles per week that you will be leaving the company. TELL THEM you were further ahead working at wal mart. Then if nothing changes, follow through with turning your truck in. Do not just abandon it though. You will likely regret it later.

 

My father in law didn't like being away that long, so he got a job with Walmart, but kept his cdl and runs some local loads for extra money once in a while. Don't screw up your cdl. At some point down the road you may need it. There is a lot of companies out there that treat drivers good. Get your regular job back, keep the cdl clean and you never know when the right driving job will open up. Good luck
