I had occasion to need the services of Nonies Truckstop in Shannon Mississippi a few weeks back. Surprise,..hardly any services. A restaurant where everyone was smoking, waitress, cook, cashier, and every single customer. They had NO fuel in the tanks to pump, I didnt need any so that was OK. I got a bag of chips and got out of there, I dont have any spare lungs. The single seater restroom was in horrible shape and the smell was intense. They were listed in the Truckstop Guide and had a billboard out on the Interstate. I took a black marker and crossed them out of my guide. It was the smelliest place i have been in ever,.and to call it a truckstop was quite the stretch, no fuel, no showers, dirt lot, and a filthy restaurant,..
I mayhave located the nastiest truckstop of alltime

I stopped at one some where down that way and the bathroom was soooo nasty I wondered if it was possible to catch a disease, any disease simply from breathing that air.
-
I've seen a few of those. Wondered if I could catch something just from pulling into the parking lot.....

Have you ever been over in jersy? there are some nasty truckstops in jersycity<img>

Dude...we quit calling that a truck stop 20 years ago. I doubt they have cleaned it since then, anyway.

4 parking spots and a roach infested restaurant does not make a truck stop.

Ambest in Chicopee, MA. Right next to a landfill AND a refinery. Smell outside was worse than a restroom. Shady characters everywhere. Two lot lizards try hitting me up in the first 15 minutes. Fuel pump on one side only. Restaurant looked like the rats stopped coming there years ago for their own safety. Truck spaces tighter than at a Flying J. Yeah, that was a great evening.

Chicopee MA, right next door to where I grew up (spfld), Ma doesn't really have to many places you can call truck stops. Besides there so heavily regulated, that I wounder how, they even get any loads delivered.

the T/A on 95 in new hampshire right at the maine border is a rat hole also. unfortunitly there is not another truck stop close so if you need fuel you have to stop. it's a total mess to get in and out of if traffic is bad. i try to avoid the place like the plague.

I stopped at that T/A on the way back from Maine to fuel up. Didn't even bother looking for a spot. I had to run back through Boston to Cape Cod for the next morning, so I actually had the good fortune to stop at a service area on highway 3 near Plymouth. I'm just glad it wasn't warm out because I didn't want to risk an idling ticket.

Oh!! And I just remembered, I had to make a Mississippi run last week and saw that billboard for Nonie's!
