Tell them you want a raise. Tell them you want a thousand a week guaranteed.

when you ready to go to another company, have you ducks in order, first look for another job/company while you are employed, then you can just leave whatever outfit you are in, never ever tell anyone you quitting, because if you give out the so call 2 weeks notices, you will never going to be routed home, and if they try to put a bad mark in your DAC report you are aready employed.

I've been with big blue for 1 year. Bad experience training, but very good otherwise. I have had a good time since I got my own truck. I run solo OTR 5-6 weeks on, 1 off. Here's my gross for the past few months. As you can see my weekly paycheck is unstable - as low as 4-5 and high as 10+.

I know the pay is not great, but in this economy I don't care. If anyone wants to quit a job, be responsible and give at least 2 weeks notice. It doesn't matter how bad you dislike an employer, you always give fair notice, unless you have no choice. It will make you reliable.

Trucking can be a "cutthroat business".Don't worry about letting them down.Don't let then smooth talk you into staying.I've seen drivers that change jobs every couple of months. We'll "they're gonna pay me 2 cpm more!" Can't pass that up! Like others have said"they're getting over on you right now.Best to quit on hometime...while they have the truck! Don't hang around and risk getting a bum run and possible bad DAC report your last 2 weeks.Jmo
