Well I called my friendly WS dealer, and we agreed that the RMS is leaking (warranty repair), and while the trans is out, we can replace the clutch assembly and inspect it. If we find anything wrong, warranty, if nothing obvious, I am out a clutch kit and no labor (remember that RMS leak?:biggrin_25525:)

I'd be pretty stoked about that! The clutch pedal on my 08 vibrates, but just a tiny bit, and when I hold my foot up against the bottom of the pedal it stops. It's just a little loose linkage is all....

I'm leaning towards a clutch issue with yours, keep us posted.

Will let everyone know tomorrow. Pulling the teams tonight, resurface flywheel, new 1850ft lbs clutch installed. I'll even be generous and have them do a pm too!
Since buying my truck here, I have yet to have a bad word to say about these guys. If anyone is in the market for a WS, let me know. Update tomorrow I hope.
Hell, even the port let me drop my od load there!

I have had a very similar issue with one of my trucks since brand new. Very bad vibration under load. clutch pedal vibrates like no tomorrow, gear stick rattles like crazy floor shakes that much your pants tingle the noise coming from under the truck is horrendous. Let off the pedal and it's gone. 2 New clutches, new flywheel, new special compound engine mounts, balanced drive shafts, multiple cutout test, double isolator on the gear stick new engine damper. The gearbox has been out of it 3 times in 12 months. They have unbolted the engine multiple times to try and let it settle. They unbolted the clutch of the truck and bolted it back on 90 degrees around and the truck nearly shook itself off the stands. Cummins is sticking there head in the sand. 20 months and no one has any clue.

Harmonic vibration. Figuring out where it's coming from, that's the challenge. Is it possible that the crankshaft could be badly out of balance?

Pressure plate was crooked when removed and the disk was wearing only on the outside edges. Weird...
2050 clutch going in, flywheel getting resurfaced, oh yeah and a new RMS.... Lol

I don't know the the name of its counterpart on a Cummins engine. A fellow I know who chased a vibration in a truck with a CAT engine. He spent thousands rebuilding drive line components. In the end the culprit turned out to be the atmospheric pressure sensor.

    Barometric pressure sensor?
We have looked at its readings and they checked out.
They went to install the new RMS and the Detroit tool pushed it in too far, so be one on its way....

I am a rookie fixer. I put a RMS in my Detroit. I borrowed the tool to install it. I was told the tool stopped at the correct depth. WRONG I had to buy another seal. I would not expect a shop to make that mistake. Barometric or atmospheric would be the one in the same. I would not put a lot of faith in a sensor testing ok. Somehow the real world can create a different result.
