I had a reckless op in May of 2010. My driving record came back clean from my CDL school. When I apply for companies and they ask were you EVER convicted of a reckless op what should I say? I applied to a company earlier and I said no, now it's bothering me, I'm not trying to lie but if it's not on my mvr then why should I mention it? Wondering what everyone's thoughts are, I'm really interested in this company and I know I'd be a good employee

in this case i wouldnt worry about it just keep your mouth shut about it from now on. Just dont make a habit of being dishonest with your employer.

Be honest...answer the question as asked...better than having someone come to you later and say..."Hey how come you didn't tell us..."

So should I call them tomorrow and be like "hey, I need to update my application"?

your not gonna get a GOOD job with a reckless so you should prob keep your mouth shut. See if the first company finds it. If not, then ur good. If so be honest with the next one. Im all for being honest, but, sometimes you need to think about #1.

I think it really depends on what the recklass was for. I mean it really depends on what you did for me to make an ethical recommendation.

Are you askin if its ok to lie?, or if you don't get found out then it's ok? Come on, you already know the answer if your feeling guilty already.
And, It can be found out down the road. Example (without to much detail)...
1982 I did a heck of a "Smokey and the Bandit" routine late one night, Heck of a ride but didn't end well except it was all "dismissed".
Fast forward, early 2000's applied to company with a retired State Trooper for safety director, end of orientation he calls me in and says "I know this has been a while ago but I'd really like to know what this here was about" as he handed me a piece of paper. He just shook his head. I was hired, all good.
Point being, he was connected and it was found, 20yrs later!!. Just FYI.

Just because your record comes back clean doesn't mean it's not on your record. I have tickets that show on my driving record that are more than 5 years old. They're on there but the points are not.

Another smart thing to do is not have a picture of yourself in a forum where you are admitting to lying to gain employment.

Employers typically search the net as apart of the background check.

I think your going over board on the lying part. I'm calling tomorrow to try and clear it up. My driving record came back clear so whatever man, it's not like I'm trying to cover up something that's blantently obvious
