I think your asking if your year starts in training or after solo. If so that depends on the company. Mine was 1 year solo.
joesmoothdog Thanks this. -
Exactly. Guess better way to phrase it woulda been when does CSA start to track.
-
As soon as you get a violation in a commercial vehicle with a commercial license.
Lepton1 and BROKENSPROKET Thank this. -
Doesn't matter how long you been driving.
If you're in Training with Trainer/Mentor on your first day and DRIVING you could get CSA Points.
As long as you were driving.joesmoothdog Thanks this. -
Day one "personal" starts when you get the plastic.
Day one "company" starts when they say it does. Mine was after completing orientation and assigned a trainer.

That 'kinda' raises a question that has been rolling around in my head from time to time.
I have 7 months and still have not had an inspection. Would a complete clean CSA record after 1 year, with no inspections at all, be worth anything?
Wouldn't be like a young adult trying to buy a car with NO credit history? -
It's not looked at the same way. 0 score is like having a high credit score. 1 year with 0 CSA points is an accomplishment.BROKENSPROKET Thanks this.

you have been a driver with a carrier for as long as you have been paid wages by a carrier on a W2, trainee or not, makes no difference in terms of work history looked at in the future by other carrier(s) (IMO) Most carriers build that into their requirements and assume some of the time claimed was as a trainee in probationary status, so it's all the same in those terms.
