I just sent you one about the driving test on the first day of orientation. That doesn't make sense to me

Usually, if you went to a Swift school you do not take the driving test at orientation. If you are coming from outside the Swift organization you may need to take a road test to determine where to place you as to how long you may need to be with a mentor. Someone coming from outside Swift with recent long term experience may move right to a solo truck after orientation and the road test.

That is how it seemed when I started as well.
Who knows how it is now.

But, how hard can a simple road test be?
It is usually going around the block. All right turns within a couple mile radius. And usually with one really tight turn that you may have to wait for traffic to clear before you can make the turn safely.
But, simple if you use a certain amount of 'common sense'.
    That, and shift gears properly.

By "problem" I mean, some people don't want their present employer to know they're looking for another job.

When I talked face to face with the Fontana recruiter, after already starting my application with Phoenix, he said that recruiters only make a commission if a recruit successfully completes their first dispatch. If you are a new driver and have to go through training, then their commission is on your first solo dispatch (or team dispatch) after testing out at the end of training and getting upgraded.

Must have been an oversight. You gotta have it.
