Can any one give me a rough weight difference in a 42 ft steel CPS, and 42x78x96 Timpte its a 96 model if that will help. I am getting real serious about buying one just trying to get an idea on empty weight. Oh it is a spring ride as well.
    Any info is much appreciated.

I'm betting Timpte is the lightest. I myself would go with air ride.

I wanted air ride but it was a finding a 78 inch side in my price range. My tare went from 30500 to 28000 even full of fuel. There is also no comparison to how the timpte pulls verses the CPS. I was Told the smooth sides make a difference but can't say for sure.

I hated to buy one that wasn't exactly what I wanted but on short notice and the sides being critical to be 78 I decided to go ahead. It was 10 miles from home to which was a factor. I just hope I make it in the grain hauling biz.

Sad day but yes. I want to be home more. That black timpte still doesn't look right in the mirror, but it's better than not looking at all. Bullhaulerswife says it best it's a young man's game. I still have my pott and my son has one just in case I can't make the hopper work.

As far as brokers, try to stay away from Cargill, Scoular, and DeBruce, they are mostly cheap. Around $1.70 a running mile.....
Check out West Plains/CT Freight, last i knew they were talking $1.90 a running mile to the truck.

Say can anyone help me out? I need to know what kind of air psi does a guy run on the lift axle on a 50ft timpte. I believe I am running 45-50. The reason I am guessing is I haven't checked the gauge lately and I think that is what I set it at when I bought the trailer. I put a set of used M147 toyo on it and am seeing them just get tore up in a quick hurry. I just don't know if it is the tire, the psi on the axle, or out of alignment. The tires that where on it where dunloop sp 384's and they wore down perfect. I am getting an alignment but can't get it in for a week and half. Just thought I would see if anyone has any other ideas. Thanks
