Back when I was a phase 1 trainer with CRE my students would look up their paycheck via Mac 40 and they would think payroll got it alll wrong or I somehow short changed them. I would always carry a calendar with me showing the first day they got on my truck. After all the deductions they basically only had enough for their cell phone and food. But it is paid training for a new career but CRE should emphasize that the net pay will be minimal.

When I did the math I thought it was pretty decent money for training. However for one reason or another my checks were 300-350 a week take home. After all the money in food etc. I was pretty much working for free. I have a family and stuff. I guess Im a moron for either going to CRE or just leaving them before getting enough experience.

Check out Maverick. They are great and pay $550 per week while training, then start at at least 33 cents per mile depending on division with raises at 3 and 6 months that will bring you to a minimum of 42 cents per mile along with a very reachable 6 cent per mile bonus after first 3 months. So at 6 months you could easily be making at least 48 cents per mile.
