Pretty much within their hiring areas. Some places just get you home more. I just parked my car at Des Moines and used that as my "home" so I could be home almost every weekend if I wanted. But I lived in Minneapolis, so I just drove home on weekends.

I should say though, I was out about 3-4 weeks at a time only because I had to be home for drill. That's how you can make good money. Deere is usually 2 weeks out at a time.

And see that's just another time where I've heard different. Either way I'm going percentage. It just makes better sense.

Yeah. Bounce miles are about the biggest difference. Under 150 sucks, but hey, sometimes it's really worth it.

Percentage is the way to go, there are alot of companies that do percentage and TMC is on the high end.

Battle, did you ever get to run those step loads out to Tacoma? Those nice accessory loads for the pickers? Those always made for a nice pay day!!! On a serious note though, I kept track of every load I did on my laptop using TMC's excel spreadsheet format and would compare to see the difference. % was way more $$$ every time! Like when you take the 3-4 stop loads out of the Deere yard in Ankeny and all those stops are in IA and you get them off the day you picked them up and get back to Deere to grab another load all in the same day. Yeah I will say on the Deere specialized, I did very well for myself. It was even more fun and enjoyable because of the cool stuff you get to pull around!

Ok, so I've had a day to forget. About 12:00 this afternoon, my boss had one of the other bosses in the company (and a personal friend of mine) come into my office and tell me, "Nevermind, we won't be keeping you until the end of the month (as I notified them two weeks ago) we're going to cut you loose today."

So, long story short, I'll be leaving for Des Moines early Sunday morning. Heck of a drive from eastern NC, but I gotta make that money.

Maybe I'll start another Gunner-esque thread about my experience with TMC Monday night. See you boys on the road soon.

That's kind of ##### that they cut you loose so soon. Did they give a reason why? One might interpret this as being fired rather then quitting with a notice

Long and short is its a dying company and he needs someone else to blame besides himself. Honestly I was hurt at first, but now I'm more relieved than anything.

Although I don't think I would have left that place for Werner. :biggrin_25523:
