I think it really depends on your home location and freight lanes. I know my first trip out after getting a truck (supposed to be a load headed home since you already been out a few weeks with orientation/training ect. The only load they had leaving the terminal was headed the opposite way. Took them a few extra days to get me headed home. But once I was in a routine, I was normally home by the 14th day tops. I know if you don't get on them to get you home, they assume you live to work and will keep you running. You have to let them know you want to get home.
