    I'm a company driver, checked into I/C but the cost of healthcare for mama and the kids was just to high after truck,fuel, taxes that I/C's take from gross. Just couldn't afford to take that risk yet.

    Great Smokies Inn, Cherokee, NC.

    Finished the Parkway today, got to see 4 elk just before the end of our ride so stayed to watch them for a bit. THAT was amazing. I've never been that close to an elk before - we were literally across the street, about 50 feet away. 3 bucks & a doe, and of course the males were doing the "let's see whose rack impresses her more" routine while she was grazing in the background appearing to completely ignore them.

    We may have time, now that I've gotten my NAT pushed out. We generally stay in Wears Valley, but haven't done Cades Cove yet. First trip, the service guy at the Harley dealership said it was a great trip, but heavy traffic and we'd be back with overheated bikes.

    It's much cooler this year, though.
