Daycab VS. Sleeper

longer truck,no rear window. when backing use mirrors, and GOAL
turning, just make a slighlty wider turn

 

I have driven both, mainly a sleeper, and I always had to get used to the window in the back of the day cab. So if you go back to a sleeper, remember you won't have that window there!

 

Hi matt, the 1st 20 years of my career, I drove daycabs, and the last 15 drove sleepers, and I tell you what, I wouldn't drive a truck with out a sleeper again. The biggest thing, is when backing up to a wagon, get out, and make sure the trailer is low enough so you don't "high-hook". When backing in, I always opened my door, to make sure where I was, as I never fully trusted a mirror.

 

I have always switched back n forth as needed.

No worries, The sleeper because of wheelbase will react a little slower,

 

I hate daycabs because you get a bad back trying to nap. They are usually underpowered too.

 

We had both....luck of the draw as to what you drove from day to day sometimes. But , if I had to choose I would take the day cab.....easier to get into a tight lot. With the sleeper , you may have to GOAL look more.

 

HA, don't forget the numb legs, and the backwards Ford oval in your forehead.

 

Day cabs are harder to sleep in. No privacy curtain!
