Yeah......I was one of them. I believe it was 2-3 weeks to get my instructor.

Then again, was in middle of a blizzard that created a royal backup, since pad & roads were unusable for testing quite often. Instructors & trainers were stranded all over country unable to get back. Was a very bad winter everywhere. Good time to be trained & learn, though.

Definately not the norm. But, sometimes things hit the fan. Typical, though, is just like cardinals mentioned.

You've probably already read about this. But if you do decide to go for it, I highly suggest you get your learner's permits & endorsements (except hazemat) before you go.

Will give you a jump on things & less stress first few days, rather than being in a do or die situation. You would be able to go right to simulator & computer based training right away, rather than spending couple of days cramming to pass tests. And, they HAVE to be passed to stay. The practice tests on this site were a great help to me passing all in first shot. Sure made things easier for me.

    PEACE ;)

    Yes.

Tanker endorsement required due to bulk liquid containers we haul in box. Not sure about flatbed, though.

They will want you to get hazmat AFTER you transfer the Missouri CDL you obtain back to your home state.

Hazmat endorsements do not transfer, and states have different requirements, so getting that one before coming will do no good. You will get it AFTER you have what will be your permanent state CDL.

I would get tanker cause there is a chance you could do your PSD part of training in a reefer truck and then do flatbed for TNT if going flatbed

Definately need Air Brake, Combination & Tanker.

Since I was already taking tests, went ahead & got Double/Triples. Haven't seen us haul any at all, but least I have it if ever need in future down the line. It's only one more little test, and there anyway......why not?

As mentioned, hold off till later for Hazmet.
