If l/o for a full day running hard and multiple stores would be north of 600.00.....230.00 only covers the costs of about 60 gallons of fuel.....

That would be extra on top of the mileage pay.

If they're paying company OTR drivers $230 flat rate, I need to switch back to OTR. I make less than that as a dedicated driver, and I run my butt off.

Taking a midday 10 at one of my favorite truck stops, Bosselmans/Pilot on I-80 in Grand Island, NE.

Have a load headed to LA. Nav system wants to take me down I-76 to run I-70 through the Rockies. That isn't happening. My next fuel stop is before I-76 splits off, then my next one is after I-70 joins I-15....

... ergo, I'm going to run what any sane driver would run: I-80 all the way to SLC then south on I-15.

Nav system wants to save 50 miles running the Rockies and burn about 4-5 more hours and more fuel to do it... gah!

All I'll say is that on a particularly busy day, a half dozen drivers (who all hang out together) all managed to run out of hours before they could complete their committed loads. The resulting pile of late deliveries nearly ended up with Swift losing the account. It did get the new onsite leader removed from the account.

Rumor has it that a few drivers didn't care for the new leader, who didn't let those drivers say what loads they would or would not do.

Doing a 10 at a T/A ex158 I-80W in PA. Dropped my load to a Walmart DC from AR this afternoon and hustled to p/u another to Detroit before my 14 ran out. Delv at 10am tomorrow. This last load puts me at 3186 miles for Wednesday cutoff...and not a load over 19K lbs. can't complain this week. Probably could've fit in another short one if the planners hadn't jacked me around a couple times wasting my hours.

You guys weren't kidding about I-80 construction!! Wasn't too bad East bound but boy the west bound side was a mess. At the 25mm it was a 10 mile parking lot. Felt sorry for them. I'm going back thru there at 3am so hope it won't be too bad.
