Clean harbours Bonnyville division. Camp job, easterner friendly shift, prove your good dedicated employee and flights back east are paid.

Split shift job, driving automatic buses. Only 30 bucks an hour for 8 hours a day. No overtime. 2 weeks in, 1 out. Not my idea of a dream job.

Will they let you stay longer in camp jobs if you want to keep working another week or more? Or are you forced to go home as previously arranged

OH&S regulates that you can work 24 days straight but must take minimum 4 days off, but not for drivers. Now oilfield exemption permit for trucking allows you to work 21 days straight but must take 72 hour to reset. If not on oilfield exemption permit then it follows the HOS rules.

Although there are some outfits that just let drivers run hard for as long as they want, but that's in the bush.

    I don't think a reset is necessary in Alberta, you can work 15 hr's (drive 13) a day 365... ?

No reset as long as you stay on the 70, but once you use your oilfield exemption then you have a limited number of days before you must reset

    Good day all,

I keep hearing that there's a lot of of work driving those big ### dump trucks in the Alberta oilfield. I am currently employed with the Canadian Armed Forces with driving experience in a variety of vehicles but I don t know any of the companies there that hires. And I don t mind camp life, after 23 yrs of military one is use to it.
