Add to that the truck driver dynamic where you spend hours in what amounts to, a solitary confinement environment. The people you spend time with in an mmo, become your social circle. In reality, it's no different than getting off work and hanging out with friends. But, as Joseph said, especially in this industry, it has to be done in moderation. Appropriate sleep and hygiene and the job must take priority.
I've been gaming longer than I've been trucking, which is over 20 years. I've yet to miss a delivery time because of it though. I get a giggle out of some truckers on here that say they never have time for anything non trucking related. I call BS there. Just yesterday I arrived 7 hrs early to deliver, would not take me early, next pickup was the next day at 3pm (getting loaded now), 3 hrs away. That's a lot of down time. That being said, my other hobby is photography, and these days I spend more time shooting than gaming.
Again agreeing with joseph, you can bet no one would be giving me grief here about my photography hobby, yet raise hell if I spend time gaming.

I get your point. I remember when PS2 first came out I played a couple of nights into the early morning hours. That was enough for me to go return the console back to costco. I had dozens of people relying on me, and here I was depriving myself of sleep.
Thinking I might try the Ps4 and see if moderation is possible now that I'm older. -
I wasn't trying to put people down. Was asking out of interest.

If I can find New Horizons for Genesis id get it in a heartbeat. I was addicted to Madden.

Getting the load delivered on time, while it was a priority, was not my main motivation for getting adequate rest. What motivated me was the fear of falling asleep at the wheel and taking a family out. Safety is my top priority, with load delivery following.

I've had an Xbox One in my truck since January, haven't even hooked up the motion sensor. I've had no problems navigating menus or playing games at all.
As far as having to be online, I just update when I am home, no worries on having to connect or up date while on the road.josepholson Thanks this. -
I'm in full support of your motorcycle idea Bergy! Trucking with a motorcycle has crossed my mind several thousand times. I saw a Columbia at the Petro in Dallas last night that had a motorcycle loaded up on his cat walk. I stopped and looked and for the life of me I'm not sure how he got it up their. Ingenuity, he had it. Air hoses were modified with a home made extender bar that dropped down 3 or 4 feet behind the back of the cab.bergy Thanks this.

I'm not a motorcycle person, but if I could do that, I'd learn to be

Pointless to hook up any of the motion peripherals on xbox 1 in a truck, you need quite a bit of room to get them to work correctly and room is something were on short supply of on a truck
