Hmmm. About every six to eight weeks, somebody comes to this thread telling all about Hurricane. You can set your watch by it, it seems to be so regular.

    1. Ex-'Cane driver comes here and posts telling us how he was wronged by that outfit.

    2. Nothing is heard for about two months.

    3. Another 'Cane victim arrives to give us juicy bits to chew on that are just more of the same.

Get the exact interval down, and you'll have a good clock.

Below is the main link to SafeStat, they have a lot of good junk on there just have to play around and get use to it.

Best to have carrier's DOT number to find them but can also get by name. Look at top left of page you will see tabs, "Overview", "Driver",
and so on you can click on these to get different kinds of violations. Also look on the lower right you will see "ISS", click on this it will show
a number, the higher the number the more likely you will be pulled in for an inspection.

I worked for Hurricane Express for 2 Weeks when they let me go. When I started with them they stated that I would be making 1.10 a mile. After my 1st load I was only making approx .97 cpm. Than they dont tell you that for the 1st 3 months you are on probation and they can let you go at anytime for any reason. They also don't let you know that you are only renting the truck for that time. To my knowledge if you are renting a truck from someone than it should be their problem for fixing any problems that come up regarding the truck. With in my 2nd week the truck broke down in Knoxville and had to go to the shop. They gave me a comcheck for the hotel for 2 nights than got the truck back on Monday. Drove the truck 268 miles when it broke down again. Truck had to be towed 15 miles to the shop again. After another 2 days finally got the truck back, Delivered my load then they told me to deadhead back to the yard. They had me stay there for 2 days before they let me go. They stated that I was using too much fuel (How when I thought I was buying the truck and I paid for the fuel) and I was taking too may advances ( Only took what they allowed $200 a week) and I only got a check for $200. Asked how I was to get home and they stated that it wasn't their problem. That how I got stuck In springdale Ar. I had no way home to Las Vegas, Nv.
This company Needs to be put out of business.

3 o my loads paid less than .84 cpm. i was told where to fuel and when, twice paying .12 cent a gallon more for fuel than i would have at the next trk stp. they have a new pollicy they dont tell you about until yu are there, you only fuel at the j and when and where they tell you to. something else they do not disclose is they dont own the trucks they are selling they are leased from peterbuilt.
they wont fix truck on road or buy oil you have to buy from them at their shop, they will put cheap tires on your truck and carge you good tire prices, and with out your permission. also they dont tell you the truck is governed at between 64 and 66 mph and the horses are so low they pull hills at 25 to 30 with 18000 in the box.

I'm sure they're a fine group of boys that just had a dream of owning a trucking company. They probably would never do anything to hurt any of your feelings and most likely had your best interests at heart. Give them another chance and I'm sure they'll redeem themselves and you'll all make lots and lots of money together.

Its hard to give them another chance when they let you go to live on the street withh no money in your pocket and No way to get home. All they want to do is have you fix any problems with the truck then once thats done they fire you for some dumb reason. I wouldnt give them another chance if they paid me 50.00 per mile.

Eek! They do have purty trucks, tho. I got passed by a fine looking purple Pete just the other day, and thought once again about checking them out.

But I remember a couple of years ago, I DID call them, and when I began asking some hard questions (payments, mileage pay, home time, etc.), they kind of blew me off. Like someone with too much experience (15+ years) wouldn't be their kind of sucker. Just my impression, but...

The first thing that scares me away from them is the fact that they don't have a web site. Everything, I mean everything that I read/hear about them is terrible. If they screwed me over half as bad as some of these poor souls I would feel the need to put one of the two idiot brothers that are in charge of this place in the ER. Plus they basically run their business out of a trailer in a dirt lot. Very professional.
