Not sure which is worse. Having a tire blow or having to eat at a McDonalds in a service plaza.

You made the right choice eating the McDonalds, over the other choice...

Trailer tire's aren't bad.... Like the others have said wait till that happens on a steer tire, that's not fun...

I've heard stories, trailer tire didn't do anything but make me jump, it hit truck following me but guess he didn't care cause he kept on rolling.

ok got a question.. Ive had numerous trailer tires blow, but i have never sat on the side of the road and waited for a service tech to come to me..always inspected the bad tire and rode on to a tire shop.. Am i doing this wrong?

I don't think so if you can do it without problems do it at very least find a safer place for the tire man to do his job with a little less worry

Is a OOS DOT violation if caught... So are you doing it wrong according to the law yes... According to me, if a service shop is close why sit on the road when you could limp it to the closest repair shop... Another consideration when making the decision to drive with a blown-out trailer tire is how heavy your load is.... Maxed out on weight and only a couple exits to the repair shop ya, but more than a couple exits might want to rethink it...

High H2O and Big Don Thank this.

couple times it happened I was loaded very light .. 15-22k lb load.. limped 40 miles though...kinda embarrassed to admit this but once I stopped an did a mid trip inspection all was well.. 100 miles down the road a biker did the universal sign for flat tire... I never knew.. right side rear..an as you know you can only really see the first set out of the mirrors.. blew and took the mudflap and bent the hanger forward
