Exactly! Back in the day we could pull over and take a nap when needed and it didn't count against our drive time. We weren't on the clock. A driver didn't have to worry about his 14 hours running out. Now we need to push through it to get our drive time in before the Goverment clock runs out, f n brilliant!

You know, it seems to me that an option to have re-cap hours roll over at either midnight, 0600 HRS, 1200 HRS, or 1800 HRS might accommodate those who are driving on different patterns. Perhaps somebody who prefers (or ends up in) 'vampire mode' would have a benefit to having hours roll over at 1800 every day. I could see being able to choose the roll-over time (the time when you get your re-cap hours) at each re-set would greatly help with the 'tired trucker' problem with those on different schedules.

Of course, this is Out-of-the-Box-Thinking VS Federal Government Regulations were talking about......:biggrin_25513:

Yeah they aren't going to change that. It rolls over at midnight just like the calendar.

Just like it should if you ask me.

I actually think it's a good point tho my day doesn't start when yours days I should get hours when my 24 is up I understand how hard this would be for enforcement but with e logs it would be simple

Log books do not have to run midnight to midnight, they just have to cover a 24 hour period. You can have a log book that runs from noon to noon, 0600 to 0600, or if you really want to confuse people 1437 to 1437, it just has to be a 24 hour period. If you run a log book that doesn't go from midnight to midnight, you would get your recap hours back at whatever time your day starts on your logbook.
