Did a quick search but couldn't find any recommendations.

I'm looking for a small printer/copier that can can hold up in the truck. It needs to be wireless so I can use it with my android phone and tablet. Would also like something with ink cartridges that don't cost an arm and a leg.

HP2540 Can print direct from phone and scan direct to phone, no computer required. Must have inverter for 120 v power. I paid $39.99 at Bestbuy in Canada.

most all printers have wireless. and they're cheap and can be found everywhere. i spend $14 for black ink about every 6 weeks. had my hp 610 printer almost 4 years now.

bad thing about wireless. you have to have internet signal or it don't work. don't know about other brands or models but mine won't connect if there's no internet.

I had the Small-In-One, albeit, an earlier version. It worked very well in the truck until it took a dive off my top shelf. Kinda stopped working after that.

Not 100% correct. You need to get a printer that says something like “direct connect” or “AIR Print” compatible. The older one needed an internet connection, but newer printer can “direct connect” wirelessly without an internet connection.

This is great for printing with tablets and smart phone’s.

A wi fi direct will allow you to print without connecting to the internet.

    Thanks Davidlee:

Its trade name is "Wi-Fi Direct" and or "Air Print"

I believe I can get around that by hooking up a wireless router so my phone and tablet can be on the same network.

If you're tight on space or a storage freak, be sure to take measurements of potential stow area and look at dimension specs before buying. Make sure to get one with scan/copy feature, preferably with a glass-top scanner for multiple small receipts. If you will be printing a lot of black/white look for one where XL cartridges are available.

Walmart can probably fit your need with their selection. I was of the opinion that air print was a bluetooth technology but it's not. I found I have to fire up my hotspot device so the printer can connect and I can then see the printer with my phone or laptop. But "internet connection" is not needed.
