Trimac over Schnieder is one thing. Trimac over Superior is a bit closer. That $1450 guarantee per week sounds good until you consider that it is for 7 days of work. That works out to a little over $200 per day. We make around $150 per day in layover pay the way its set up. Out 3 weeks at a time is the deal breaker for me. Ethos do you make $1450 for a week of home time?

No, you have to be available from Sunday to Saturday, but they usually let it slide if you run on Monday. Hometime week is just miles and accessorie pay.

Also, it's not 3 weeks out its 2 minimum. I just run 3 or 4 out by choice. You can take as much hometime as is reasonable. You could run three and take a week off if you wanted. Some guys run more and take like 2 weeks off. Basically we are product dedicated right now, meaning we are hauling the same product out of the same shipper but to different destinations. Really easy gig right now, we are guaranteed this run for the next 6 months.

Just so everyone knows, the minimum is just mileage, the accessorial pay is separate. My average take home is over 1400 a week.

Sorry yeah I did overlook it. I don't know what you're looking for exactly, ask me some questions and I'll answer best I can. It's a good job, pay is great but you have to run. Idle all you need, bonus is based on safety and service only. Good insurance, 16.25 hr for detention, layover, tank wash and breakdown. Anything out of your control that stops your forward progress can be written up. Tank wash starts the minute you get there. Layover starts after 18 hrs. Company will install inverter and microwave and fridge. Free uniforms, you can have facial hair. That's all I can think off at the moment, if you need specifics just ask.

The 2 week minimum is what did me in as well. I just couldn't bring myself to commit to that. Plus, I feel like I've got a pretty good thing going here. I kind of get to do what I want, within reason of course, and I feel like I work with a great group of people. It's very hard to walk away from something like that.

However, from my conversations with Ethos, Trimac would be one of the first companies to get my application if I found myself seriously looking to change jobs. Everything about them seems just as good as I feel Superior is.

That will keep a lot of folks away. It's hard to entice drivers away from other companies who offer superior home time. It was an easy switch for me because I was already running hard. If i had a a nice home weekly gig it would have been tougher.

That's sort of what I was thinking. That Elite fleet is an easy sell to Schnieder drivers because they are either running that hard to make what other tanker companies pay for dedicated or they aren't making any money. Glad you found a home Ethos.

Ethos, would you happen to know what the local chemical guys at the Lansing IL terminal are making starting out if they don't have tank experience? They've been posting ads on indeed like crazy for local runs for that area or in Burbank, IL.
I'd personally consider both trimac and superior carriers in Markham, IL but I don't believe superior offers local over here and I never really see them in daycabs.

I'll let you know this week, I'll be talking to them about a local job.
I'm just looking at every option out there.
Pretty happy where I'm at except for this run to Boston tomorrow.

    TheJU312 Thanks this.
