I can understand how that would be very boring for a trainer to just sit there for 3+ weeks

 

I can confirm this, I just started as a trainer. It is probably one of the hardest things I've ever done not to side seat drive constantly. But it gives trainers an awesome opportunity to really get to know and work with students on an individual level. Everyone is different, and a trainers technique can be adjusted accordingly.

My last student told me his horror story about training with Swift. Can't say they are all bad but he sure had a less than safe experience.

 

New drivers do 7500 miles (this just changed from 10,000) and its estimated to take 3 weeks. But its like all miles, some weeks better some worse. My limited experience so far is closer to 3000 a week. They want to get you trained and into a truck asap. They pay you and the trainer for every mile the truck is dispatched regardless of who drives. If you have some experience but not past their threshold (6 months I think) you only have to run 5000 miles with a trainer.

The lies start already, Of course they record all the time, or can they go backwards to create events... Normal load of crap....

 

It records on a round robin interval system. If it is triggered, it saves 8 seconds before and 5 seconds after. If its not triggered, it just keeps erasing segments of unused recordings. I would be surprised if they couldn't tap into it, but I don't know why they would want too. Don't do anything stupid in your truck.
