I watched someone from the same company do this the other day. I picked up the phone and called in to tell them about their lazy driver. He even backed up into the scale for a reweigh, then parked in front of the scale like he owned it, AGAIN.

That is rediculouse. .. you should of told him he CAN move the truck while on break and not trigger the qualcomm or elogs... it doesnt kick you off OFF DUTY as soon as you start or move the truck.... the truck has to move some distance before it will log DRIVING.... he could of probably made it out the truck stop before it logged DRIVING...

I know there have been time when I cut it too close and had a mnute of HOS left on my clock.. so I would log OFF duty as soon as I stopped at the off ramp... then I would go to the truck stop and park...

Driver give way too much power to those e log and qualcomm boxes... they are just little eltronic boxes and are very easlily fooled....

Everything the OP said is 1/3 of the industry, regardless of experience.

That's not the point. The ####### shouldn't have went off duty at the fuel island.

ya like experienced drivers dont sit and clean their entire peterbilts long nose trucks in the truck aisle. they the worst ones. and they usually are the ones who dont like to get out the truck and walk their nasty butt to the bathroom. they just get out and use it on their step deck. how about you experienced drivers learn what respect is first. sheshhhhh

Many drivers pre-trip, wash windshield throw trash away in the fuel island.. how long does that take ? When one is sitting behind two others .. how much time will pass ?

I agree,it doesn't make since, you fuel pull forward then log line 1.Now there's times im sitting behind like a couple trks then ill log line one because I know its going to be a wait before its my turn. But to take a half hr brk at the fuel island, thats just plain wrong, stupid and very disrespectful and I don't care if there is 5 trks ahead of me I will hunt that driver down and say something.

When its packed and you want to a break it is best to park in a space/whole .. there's usually plenty of them open during the day or peak hours.. I've done it and waited for spot open to fuel up.. let everyone else get the wait blues
