I have a pre assignment that is a heavy heavy load sealed already it says in the remarks section do not pick up with a full tank of fuel which I have to scale it I have to run by two dot scales before I can get to the pilot. I shared my concerns with my dbl he said don't worry about it.
Last week I ran hard all week just to get 1600 miles because of live unloads that were supposed to take 30 minutes took 3 hours. How this week's panning out I am set to drive 1000 miles there no money in that.
I need this job but why be away from my family for a week for 300$ bucks.
I don't know what to do.

Wow.
"dbl" means you run for SNI, right? -
What is the location you are picking it up at and where is it going.
-
Ask your dbl to send you a message on Qualcomm stating that they will pay any fines if overweight. Bet his/her tune changes real fast.
walstib Thanks this. -
i fell the same way driver. all i can say is run steady and if they dont like it then tough. i too hate being away from my family. i drive for heyl and in order for me to spend some quality time with the wife and kids i have to stay out 1 maybe 2 or even 3 months. i try to get home at the end of the month but it dont always happen. you shouldnt have to run your ### off like that to make $300 a week. i did that and threatened them i was going to quit if things didnt pick up. i told my DM that my family is going under. so you either do something about it or ill have too...
hal380 and NavigatorWife Thank this. -
Forced dispatch? I'd pass. If you're cutting it that close, fuel isn't going to matter. Be strong, buckeroo, say thanks, but no thanks, what else you got? If they say nothing, move on. Again, if wannabe's would only take posts like this seriously, instead of thinking, boy, I think this is the life for me, they wouldn't be in this mess. The only reason it's sitting there, is everybody else refused it. There's no reason to load the wagon that close. Good luck.
hal380, Pmracing, peterbilt_2005 and 1 other person Thank this. -
I don't understand why "people" keep doing this to themselves.
I see threads after threads of noobies and drivers asking about this and that mega carrier.. and I'm thinking to myself.. really do you really think you'll do good feeding the big shark so he can take care of you?
Well let me say this..
Mega carriers are not in business for YOU
Mega carriers just want THEIR MONEY
Mega carriers have NOTHING TO LOSE by working with you.
Mega Carriers don't care about YOUR personal life.
They dont give a $.05 about your health.
Mega Carriers don't care about YOUR HOME TIME.
Whine, complain all you want, it doesn't matter if you are simply the best or if you suck up enough, if your job is not in the Mega Carriers agenda you'll be put on the street without any one having remorse.
Imho out of my own little experience;
I worked for:
Prime
Navajo
National carriers
ATS
Sure you want taxes out and benefits.. lol; I see the benefit of driving a stripped truck and never being home, and when you finally get to go home (who knows through what so much trouble) your checks are never over 500 a week avg in all weeks worked.
Thats like working at burger king to me.
I wished there was a way to warn peeps so we wouldn't have had to go through this but some of us just don't listen.
Good luck driverhal380, bigdogpile and HeWhoMustNotBeNamed Thank this. -
Communication is important. don't let them walk all over you, let them know it isn't going to work.

At the shipper, ask where the nearest scale is, they often have directions there. They may even have a scale on site. If that doesn't work, you can use the "where to" and "points of interest" buttons in Navigo to search for nearby scales.
