Delivered my drop to Lowes in Rockford IL this morning and then told I could not have an mty. Great!!
Had a live load scheduled at Owen Corning about 10 mins away to go get plus I'm on a very tight schedule to get to Minnesota with it and running on recaps. Any chasing for a trailer ensures I'll be late for p/u and delivery. No extra minutes.
Of course the trailer solution is go an hour in the opposite direction. Now I'm sure the load will be late so the pressure is off. I go to this food place to pick up the trailer and as usual it's a piece of trash. I hunted all around their lot but nothing but trash. Then found a brand new trailer hiding in a corner. Grabbed and left. There is a God after all.

Mac 22 it with enough time to let yourself relax a bit.
I've stopped stressing about these problems because it happens so often. I just say when I'll be there and let CSR deal with it. -
Home Sweet Home. Coming across IN this morning and parked on a get off ramp where 4 truck, and with them, 2 cruisers. They were getting a rude awakening. One was a Swiftie. The worst part, right there at that ramp is a very large truck stop that is never full. Exit 41. When I went buy the whole back lot was pretty much empty. In all my years of driving, never see this one fill up. I can just hear the excuses that there where giving for parking on the ramp. I would also love to be a fly on the wall when our driver gets called into safety to explain this ticket. Sorry, I ran out of hours, well excuse me, at the 23 exit is 3 truck stops.

In over 3 years I have never parked on a ramp.
A little trip planning goes a long way. -
Got a trip from Edwardsville to Portland, TN. After that I mom's in Brentwood for a week off.

slept on ramp twice. i-84, weat of cabbage. missed the offramp for the casino and ran out of hour. was dark and didnt see any parking where i pulled over. other time was when i was about 5 miles short of dunigan ca. sometimes stuff just happens. no matter how much trip planning you do.

I've been luckier than many, I suppose.
I don't know how many times I've shut down with less than 10 minutes left on one clock or another. -
have 5 hrs left on 70. pick up 1.5 hrs tomorrow, 6.75 the next. thought about driving straight to a shell with truck parking at ex 115 off i-39 but was about 15 min left and didnt know how bad traffic would be. would've been able to do a 34 reset. wasted half hour at the fuelstop or i could've made it. oh well
