Looking for feedback on this company, most info is from the website, I called and asked the tractor to trailer ratio which is 1 – 3 tractor to trailer, and being where I live would average 2000 – 2200 miles a week, because you are home every weekend, which is just fine by me. So if I use these figures the annual is in the range of $32660 - $35704 with an average of $34182 for first year on just miles, nothing else included. Now I have not ruled out finding a local job, but many want a year experience with the CDL School, otherwise they want 2 years. Can I do better; maybe, just have to look more. This is a local terminal, no HazMat required, dry van.

they don't sound too bad but i question the low mileage pay. driving 2000 miles and living in a truck, running 2 households for 660$ before taxes just doesn't seem right. mind sharing the name of the company. i might know more about them that way.

oh ok. if your looking in that direction try estes, conway southern, old dominion and companies like that. the ltl companies are pretty good and seem to swing by the house more often if not every night. i haven't heard good/bad about epes but i just don't care for their pay package. personally i don't pay much attention to a company unless they are paying .38 or better.

How you gonna get .38 with no experience. Remember I am still in school. The only other companies near by that are LTL require 1 year experience.

They(LTL) do have training programs where You dont need 1 year driving experience.Yes it might be dock/driving position but union pay would take over in 2-3 years when they pay You 100%(You start at about 75%).

    Looking in that direction myself.:yes2557:

with no exp you shouldn't settle for less than .35cpm. but you gotta do what you gotta do and i understand that. just remember your gonna be running 2 house holds soon and the road is not cheap. look at spending 100$- 150$ a week and thats just buying the nessaties. food is very expensive out there.

Or do u just keep looking til u find on outfit that offers .35 cpm, u don't see anyone offer .35 cpm. Help us out on this. Thanks.

I believe Conway has a better payplan than what's listed above for Estes. I know several drivers that have been with them for many years and they all recommend them.

You'll prob end up starting in the low 40's or so, with none of the nit picking pay things that it looks like Estes is going to do, plus they'll train you while your on the clock(I believe). I think I remember hearing too that if you stay for a full year and ya don't pay back any tuition costs. You'll be trained properly too at Conway.

Go for line-haul unless ya don't mind making alot of stops that goes with P&D work, either way you'll be home most nights-days no matter which LTL company you go with. Most LTL gigs offer no weekends too, although ya always see a few here and there on the weekend roads running line-haul.

If ya don't mind handling freight, LTL is the way to go!
