We had to fuel up there on Saturday night, but we layed over for the ten hr break at Lamar! Salt lake city is definately the best terminal as far as facilities go and the central cafe at Salt lake is pretty good.

 

Funny thing trucking school, one minute you have 30 in your class next 20 of them are gone. Wasn't till today that we all started asking ourselves "Hey, where did so & so go?". We are down to about ten or eleven people, but things are going great so far. We did highway & a little & I do mean little bit of hill driving. I passed my brake, cab & pre-trip test so we are all working on our skills & road driving.

All in all things are going better then I thought, tomorrow or Thursday we should get the next class joining us so we will have a crew of newbies to mess with.

 

If Central told the 20 you still need to pay the tuition that would suck O well guess thats how the rich get richer and the poor get drowned

Yeah we stopped there one night and yep I got lost getting out of there I swear I'm directionally challenged. I did get a really cool cap embroidered there.

 

Central gives a five day grace period, as long as you don't start the sixth day of school you don't have to pay a dime... At least thats what the paper that we all got said.

 

All but one person in our class passed the "skills" test today so know we are all just hanging out wait to road test, things are getting a little better everyday.


If all go's well I hope to be out with a trainer by mid next week.


(As long as I'm gone before my birthday gets here I don't really care)

Took some time to talk to some Cenrtral drivers the other day both seem happy best of luck at your new job

 

I'll be starting training at the SLC terminal on the 5th. A couple of quick questions for anyone who's been there. Do they have wi-fi for laptops? And if not, is there a hardwire connection there that we could plug into to at least download the email. Also, is there any kind of exercise room to help us out of shape people from getting any more out of shape?

Looking forward to getting this started. I was originally going to take Greyhound from Spokane, but ended up getting a SouthWest flight instead. 1 and a half hours if a whole lot better than 19-23 hours on a bus! And I'll get reimbursed for the whole ticket which was cheaper than the Greyhound. That's a good way to start things off.
