I have pulled curtain van for several years. It works well for the area I live in & the freight that is available here. I think you need to find your lanes/customers/brokers etc. first and then spec your equipment accordingly.

I was told this by the main man at quick draw when I talked to him at a truck show. I have never ran with mine open so I can't really tell you. If you haul oversize very much a conestoga type system might not be right for you.

I have never seen a system that will cover a oversize load! I do know 1 person that has a conestoga on a RGN but what she hauls is not oversize.

I have see a big dozer in a curtain.
Yup,oversize.
But like with everything in life,$$$$ rules,meaning it ain't for free.
On a flatbed ,it is relatively easy to make.
Oh,and is only with a curtain you can do that. -
The only con. I see is having to roll that thing front and back ,at least twice, on every single load.
