It should be OK, but if you have time, I'd go in as clean as possible taking nothing.
-
you should be fine but if you are that worried I would call LabCorp they do a lot of random testing for big companies they would be able to tell you

Sudafed has amphetamine in it...that is why the meth-heads were using it to cut meth, and it has now become a drug you must ask for rather than grab from the shelves. You can put in your "remarks" section of prescriptions and medications you're taking...and WHY you are taking them....Sudafed IS a legal drug, but it DOES mess up a drug test, so an explanation WILL be required.
Best thing you can do is go with a different cold medicine and avoid the hassle.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
I would take Claritin instead. Much better results.

sudafed absolutely has no amphetamine in it. It is however a precursor chemical and main ingredient in methamphetamine production. Which is why the DEA keeps a log of all transactions.
To the OP: sudafed in high quantities taken immediately before a urine test might show positive for amphetamines on a preliminary screening. Secondary tests will rule out drug abuse if you are only taking cold medication.
The good news is that it is water soluble and should be out of your system within 24 - 48 hours of use.123456 Thanks this. -
Get a doctors note. The doctor needs to know your usage of any drugs that you may be using. Make sure the doctor is willing to be contacted by any employer and you have given them your consent for any medical review. The doctors note needs to reflect whether what you are taking will pose any problems with you performing your job. The note should also include why you are taking the drugs and what regimen that may be required. Have the doctor make more than one original. You want one for you to keep, one to present, one for home records. The recruiter may ask you to fax the doctors note to them.
When you go for the physical at the employer, remember to present the doctors note to the people whom are giving you the physical.
The doctors note is actually a signed letter, make sure the doctor signs it with a pen other than black (some people, I dont understand why, have issues with documents signed with black ink). -
Or you can just pick a different cold medicine and avoid the hassle.
I take Prilosec OTC (Omeprazole) to control my acid reflux, so when I have a Physical and/or Drug Screen, I just put in the remarks section of "medications used" 'Omeprazole - Used to control acid reflux', and have never been questions. Not sure what or if it does anything to my urine or not, but I cover my butt just in case. -
If Sudafed doesnt have amphetamine in it then how can you test positive for amphetamines as you have stated above.
To OP: If you are using it for allergies id use Alavert. -
as a former pharmacy tech , let me explain. Methamphetamine is chemically similar to ephedrine, and pseudo ephedrine . When one takes either substance, they are metabolized by the liver as the body cleanses the blood of these toxins. The liver has enzymes, chemicals that react with the drug molecule, which break down (metabolize ) the substance into similar molecules. The process of metabolizing these drugs occurs in the liver. The drugs pass through the liver, and the chemical reactions between the livers enzymes serves to strip away key elements of each drugs molecule which distinguish them. Methamphetamine is metabolized into a more simple substance. Likewise pseudo ephedrine (sudafed)!is also metabolized into a simpler substance. The end result is, compared at first glance, both drug metabolizes are analogous of each other. That is to say they are very chemically similar and require secondary tests to determine, was this drug amphetamines or was it pseudo ephedrine ?
Logically you cannot buy amphetamine in any form OTC. Amphetamines are a scheduled II substance I believe and are illegal without an Rx
