Just had an interview with ABF for full time city driver /p&d position. Anybody in the San Jose terminal on these boards ? I'm trying to get some info on the pay scale for this position. Looks like they pay different rates depending on what you do.
Anybody at the ABF San Jose terminal ?

Why didn't you ask about the pay during the interview?

It was a serious question, they could have told you with 100% accuracy. Here you'll get hearsay at best. When I go in for job interviews the most important question is what the pay is. I'm not trying to bust your chops as I like your posts just curious why you didn't ask them.
moloko Thanks this. -
point taken. i tend to not ask about pay so much at interviews, because sometimes that question irritates the interviewer. at least that's how it's been in other fields ive interviewed in. but i got it straightened out--emailed the recruiter.

Good to hear, did they call you back yet? Good luck I hope you get the job!

Is abf still union? I tried applying years ago in the oakland terminal and was told I have to be a union member to even apply.

and the pay is.................?

When I worked in office jobs asking about pay during an interview meant you were only interested in a pay check and not what type of work you would be doing. Truck driving is a lot different.

I would like to share this with you. When I applied for a job with YRC. The terminal mgr. did not mention the pay scale at all. We, that is myself and another new hire sat through video's and was given a tour of the dock and that was it. So, before we left I had to bring the subject up. "What's the job start at? The terminal mgr never mentioned pay .
