Lol you only need to take that 24hrs off if you've worked for 14days straight and who does that now adays. you dont need to take 24 off just to enter Canada.

Trade goes back and forth man. There are many loads going back and forth Canada to USA and USA to Canada. Also there are tons of US drivers who refuse/not allowed/afraid/whatever that won't run Canada.

You obviously haven't driven in Cali. Almost no one drives 55 except for snowwy. Makes him easy to spot. When I come up on a truck going 55 I say, "Hey, there's snowwy!"

I set the cruise in California at 58 mph when I'm on any highways except the ones heading out. I'll turn it up when heading out. Been clocked at 65 on 10 outside of Blythe and the CHP didn't even flinch. They're more lenient out in the desert.

Try driving down in Mexico. The speed limit most of the way down when my dad and I traveled to Gomez Palacio was between 90 and 110 kph (toll roads had the higher limit). I had the cruise in the van set to 130 kph (81 mph) and we were being passed like we were standing still.

In my experience if traffic is heavy and you're keeping up they won't mess with you. I've had CHP go by me while I've been doing 65. When traffic is light I usually run 60. Maybe they treat out of staters differently.

    Knock on wood!

I chalk it up to the desert based CHP officers acknowledging that a truck going 65 mph (10 mph over) and still under the flow of traffic is less of a hazard than the hothead in the BMW going 95 mph (25 over) who is tailgating and weaving.

    HotH2o Thanks this.

The only one's doing 100 are the trucks from the US, all the others are going at least 120 or seem to be. I was up there a couple weeks ago driving on the 401, as I am just moving along in my car, I had a few trucks approaching fast then passing me. Behind them were a couple of OPP cars and they passed the trucks who didn't slow down. I love Canada ... I really do.
