Every time I go to Mile Hi it gets increasingly frustrating. Last time I was here a drop turned into a live load. And this has been the trip from heck. I was by no means hot rodding with this trailer yesterday. In fact, it was rather uneventful all the way from Dallas to Amarillo. Yesterday after I parked I noticed that the trailer was leaking like a combo load. Not good considering I've got 75 gallon drums full of syrup. Something has shifted and is damaged. Load was seal when I picked it up so no load locks were put in. I went across the scale in Limon only to be pulled in because I was overweight on the tandems by 680 lbs. I about died when I got my drives on the scale and saw it was down to 30140. 36680 on the trailer. So I got pulled in and the sent me over the scale again, stopping with each axle on the scale. I went inside and explained that it had been a preloaded and sealed trailer I couldn't put load locks in and the load had shifted because it was now so tail heavy and I also had Coke syrup leaking out. I think the scalemaster felt bad because I was on the very of an anxiety attack. He asked if I knew how to get it legal and I said I did. He told me to go do it and then bring it back over the scale again and if it was legal, I could go on. I am so thankful. I mean, I'm making paychecks, but my husband's hours have been cut in half and we are actually counting on the money I make right now. I couldn't afford a ticket. So I get to Mile Hi and it's supposed to be a drop. They refuse it, saying their drop yard is full and to come back at 11pm. I said f*** that, you'll be lucky if I bring it in tomorrow. I'm currently sitting out on the road waiting to hear back from my DM if she was able to make other arrangements. I'm giving it 3 more hours before I head over to the TA and go to sleep until I feel like getting up again. I need a drink!!!
Oh, just west of the truck stops in Limon I came up on one of our trucks and trailer laying on its side just off the right shoulder. Cop and wrecker were on scene. It was a 2013 trailer not sure about the tractor as all I could really see was the belly as I passed. Might have been a silver 680?Road_Kill Thanks this. -
I had a note about the wreck in Limon but didn't know it was a TransAm truck. Prayers that the driver was ok.
You were in Amarillo last night? I think the King was parked a few trucks away from you. I asked him if it was you but he didn't see the driver and was getting ready to go to sleep.
I'm thankful that you didn't get a ticket at the scale house. That was a blessing. I'm sorry about the load and hope they get it straightened out soon.
Alright kids, I am off to run some errands. (Number One Daughter calls you "Mum's Other Kids".) Everyone check in please .....my map pins are a mess. Tell me where you are headed also and I will try to give you a heads up if I see anything that you need to know about. I feel like I have neglected you by posting everything on the other page.jungHo Thanks this. -
Any story on the Limon wreck? Anyone else involved? The only truck there when I passed this morning was the laid over TransAm truck.
That was me in Amarillo! Lol. Wish he had come and knocked. I was up late just reading a book in bed.
I sat at Mile Hi for about 2 1/2 and then my DM got thinks worked out. Receiving told me I would have to come back tonight at 2300 because the drop yard was full which just wouldn't work for me. And the story communicated to the supervisor was that I was told the yard was full and I would have to wait a few minutes. I told the supervisor that that wasn't true. Had I been told I needed to wait an hour or two for them to open up space in the drop yard I wouldn't have been thrilled, but would have done it no questions asked as it wasn't going to affect my HOS or my next load. But telling me to wait til the middle of the night was impossible as I would be stuck on a break.HometimeQueen Thanks this. -
So, if we are "Mum's other kids," that means I have 2 sisters! It's about time after having 4 brothers and no sisters. Yay me!!!!
HometimeQueen and .honeybadger. Thank this. -
I am in Gurney, Il. They tried to swap me last night for a load that delivers in Southside Chicago @1700, No way. I said I couldn't do that. I guess they figure if they don't take that preplan off of me I will do it. LOL. I delivered my load in Waukegan today, it was due tomorrow. Now waiting for load. Emily is not a very good communicator and responds very slowly to messages. I wait on the phone for over an hour every time she is in, not very impressed with her so far.
Cranky don't worry will call tomorrow to talk some junk about your Patriots. Just had to talk wife today.
Be safe out thereHometimeQueen Thanks this.
