I like the way this company at least asks me, if it's ok if they get me home late. If not, tell us now so that we can redo things as needed. They know how long I've been out here, and they know that I am one of their runners. As a small company , I am not a number and they will work with me.
HometimeQueen and dennisroc Thank this. -
Is Hireright for everyone , I thought someone said it was just for people that have been trucking and had a CDL already. And checked their trucking record , I will check it out though.

company drivers usually have to fuel where they are told to fuel and most of the bigger carriers use Pilot. Plus Pilot has been giving out double points all summer long so... long lines at pilot/flying j.Panhandle flash Thanks this.

There sure is a lot of negative stuff I hear about driving but I still have an interest. My wife wants me to stay here in Korea , good tax free wages and close to our house in the Philippines but I am ready for a change. Just do something different. She is concerned about the $$$$$$ in trucking and has a good point but sometime it's not about the money. But I still question my own thinking.
Get 3 weeks vacation and 2 weeks personal time paid , and in trucking I will be trying to get a weekend off every 2 weeks haha. Other perks also but time will tell

your not going to buy houses overseas trucking
have a backup plan when the midlife crisis endsdennisroc and Panhandle flash Thank this. -
Thats the kicker then Double Points. And I do understand that a lot has to do with the carriers. But wouldn't you prefer to park in a lot that was not packed to the gills to where you are actuall parking on the access road to the stop. I'm just saying as it is only 5 min north and lots of free spaces. Even if you have to fuel and shower then head 5 min north time permited of course?Last edited: Aug 29, 2014

That's true, dennisro, however, all jobs have some kind of negative. If your wife is riding with you, that's a plus. Also you'll get to see lots of pretty country side. George loves how the midwest is so wide open and not so congested. Still, not paying taxes is a perk. Well, good luck deciding when the time comes.dennisroc Thanks this.

They do background checks for many different industries but they would only have a report on someone if a potential employer had requested one. I believe somewhere on their website is a list of some of their clients....
Also, HireRight is partnered with several other background checking businesses so if any of those had ever requested information it should show up on HireRight.
