/And I do have a B.A. in English literature. And a Class A CDL with tanker, HAZMAT, and doubles & triples endorsements, and I've been through the trucking hiring process a couple of times already in my short career after starting out with a terrible company. So, you know, advice, even if you don't like it, is still advice.

Sorry to be dumb but I don't understand what you mean by "with at least two people". Are these people that are confirming that you were unemployed for the specific time? I am asking because I have been unemployed since 7/14 and will likely stay unemployed until after I finish truck school at end of October.
