Haven't heard any mechanical issues with autos. If you off-road the rig in the mud with chains, I suggest you stay with a manual. If it's strictly a highway rig, autos are fine.

around 12,000 hrs they got problems, but still under warranty -
Just specced a Volvo with I-shift yesterday at $167,500 + tax. I'd take a 75% discount in a heartbeat.

Do you any other trucking companies that have automatic transmissions? Besides us xpress, pam and maverick.
-
Based on those companies sounds like you are looking at US companies. You might want to look outside of the Canadian area of the forums. -

I have a 2014 volvo with a ishift and I swear by it. I haul oil doing infield work with it and it's flawless. If I leave it in economy mode in the mud it will bog down as economy shifts between 1000-1500 rpm but power mode 1500-1900 it will tear #### up!!!!! That thing will shift quicker than I could even think of shifting a manual and my auto with my highway rubber will pull through the mud just as good as my manual with mud tires any day.
I have never once had to run it in manual mode but it's there if I need it. Can't wait till next spring when I get a good mud grip on this beast.
