    Where on the cad is the best location. I can mount it center of the truck on the ladder rach

    The biggest horizontal piece of metal is the best place. A ladder rack, bumper, hand rail. Non of these places are good. Your vehicle is a counterpoise and needs to be under the antenna.

    I just mounted if to the side of the rack because i see truckers with theirs on the mirrors all the time. Moving to the center of the rack would be simple.

    as of now I dont have the amp inline and still have swr above 3.

    Vswr is only a more proper way to say swr. Most truck drivers are a poor source for CB information. At lease the accurate kind.

    You've been using the term swr. I just told you vswr is a different/better way to say swr.

    With a good mag mount you can change the piece under the load (usually in the center) to one that is longer. Your stinger above the load will have to be shortened. But less than what you added. Cut the stinger in small increments. Then check your swr.
