    No, I'm a Company ####### :biggrin_25523:
I did 191 a couple of times. Great scenery (love the overlook rest area on I-70 right before 191 coming up from Green River) but I always was pulling very heavy loads and getting stuck behind RVs, slow moving tourists and so on. Takes too long and drove me a little nuts.

I hear ya on the winter stuff. I stop going out there when the chain laws go up and last couple of years ran Walmart surge out of Baytown TX doing regional till after the first of the year. My favorite area is up around the Great Lakes, lots of freight. Don't mind that wet sloppy snow so much.

I've often told my DM I'd be a super happy camper if Swift would keep me between the Rockies and the Appalachians..and Canada to Mexico. Haahaa, she says!! But for the last few months thats the area I've stayed in getting really good miles. This week was a little less since I had home time here in Houston. Took only three loads and hopscotched my way back from MN. I didn't mind.

I've done several can loads from RMCC to Ft Worth and love em. Nice and light, gets me to pretty good runs out of DFW. Maybe I've been lucky but I've never had a problem getting an MTY from Miller after dropping. What I do dislike is hauling those heavy a@@ beer loads out of Coors, usually to El Paso or Laredo. Nothing like running the gauntlet from Denver to Pueblo then crawling up to Raton Pass. Life of a Company Driver.

T/A in Prescott, AR. Could not believe all the parking spaces, an still up front along the road there are already trucks parking creating their own little space. For it being a holiday weekend, can not believe how lite the traffic. Saw something today that really brightened up my day. That section of construction on I-40 that has been going on forever in AR, finally finished and wide open.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

They still have this one over by Hope, AR and there is still that other one on I-40 close to Little Rock.

Much as I hate construction zones, I love it even more when they are complete and we have decent roads to drive on.
Much as we hate construction zones, wouldn't we all rather be driving on smooth roads again?

When I got into trucking nearly 4 years ago I was amazed by the poor conditions of so many of the highways.
It is not nearly so bad today as it was then.

Do we really need to gripe about things that are actually making it better for us?

Steve, instead of going to the s/r office, go to the empty trailer lot next to the gate and cherry pick a few trailers. Then go to the office and tell them you have a food pick up next and Swift said to get one of these three trailers. The first time I tried it I went down in flames because that just happened to be the next trailer they were loading . Yeah right. I figured out they can't load three next and always get out of there with the trailer I want. On the weekend just pick your favorite when you drop and tell the Millis gatekeeper since they could give a hairy rat's ### what trailer you get.

I'll be at the FJ at in Dallass tomorrow doing an unplanned reset waiting to get with the International mechanic at the Lancaster terminal shop on Tuesday at way too dang early to get the AC that has cost me over $5k in the last 2 years fixed. Again.

If anyone is planning on being in the area, give me a call or pm. Just not too early, please.

I have to say that Miller is on my list of no go, after the 1st and only time that I was there. Dropped a load and then had to pick up one. What I hate, at least then, scale the load and ask how much I weigh, and the guard says that can not tell you. Only tells you if you are over gross. That is really chicken crap. The only Miller that I have ever been in that will not let you scale your load, other than Trenton, but there is a scale right around the corner at least. Can not remember how close the nearest one to FT Worth is.
