In some trucks the safety net is mounted where all one does is trip over it.. the first two used company trucks i was issued were not mounted someone removed them and left them under the bunk to reinstall (could be mistaken for equipped) these days.. its a hassle every time i get under the bunk.. i don't own the truck so i deal with it.. haven't had a issue either way other wise
Do not go texas!!!

I don't go through any weight stations any more. I always find a route to by pass them and I always keep the radio on. Prepass was canceled and turned in too because that didn't work all the time. All my scores show a big fat 0.

They tried to get me the other night. Right there when 70 and 153 meet on my way to Sweetwater from San Angelo. They had to know I was comming cause they were just waiting. Pulled me over said I was getting an inspection and weighed I said "Well I've got one of them fancy dance stickers over there in the window." Well your gettin another one anyway. I then said "You know I'm empty to I just unloaded in San Angelo". So he pulls my log book and walks back to his car bout 30 minutes later he walks up and says "I know your illegal but I can prove it" I said "So I'm free to go?" NOPE!! Inspection time! He goes over this truck with a fine toothed comb. All the way back to tail lights on my trailer. Now I've got 3 marker lights on my trailer that the ground is sorta screwed up and if you hit the side of the trailer they come on and stay on till you shut the lights off again. So I did that and he said good enough and sent me on my way.

Something is wrong with this thread. I just can't accept that getting ticketed for a leak that hasn't happened yet makes any sense. It doesn't make sense, to me, so I think there's a back story out there. Just sayin', if this is true, and maybe .01% of trucks have zero leaks, then there are about 2,999,999 trucks already in violation.

I had an old student of mine get a ticket in the Texas Panhandle for a dirty license plate. He thought the cop was kidding but was given a citation. He took a pic of it and it wasn't nothing major just normal bugs but license plate was readable. I see fracking trucks all the time in Texas with unreadable plates because of mud and dirt. But I guess every LEO has their moments.
