My focus out here is to work, make money, pay off a huge amount of debt then save up to buy my own truck out right and then take over the world ;)

My 5 year plan right now is to pay off the $60k in debt I have (about 2.5years to do), save up enough money to buy a used truck, maybe a new one (about 2 years). All of that is completely doable with as a company driver with Prime. I will not lease a truck as long as I am in debt. This plan may take me longer then if I took the risk of being a Lease Operator, but I know the risk this way is very minimal and they miles are predictable. Slow and steady wins the race.

There are no shortcuts in life, experience, business, or relationships. Spent the last 10 years learning that lesson the hard way.

One day I will have a truck big enough for 2 people. Then I'll start the first truck route between the main land and Hawaii. I am sure I can find a few drivers willing to make that drive on a regular basis. The pay and miles would be perfect ;)

Surely I can't be the only oldtimer laughing his ### off at you guys complaining about lack of space? Trying living in a single bunk cabover where any time the cab had to be raised, everything had to come out of the bunk, unless you wanted to buy a windshield. I ran team in 9300 Binders with 42" sit in flat top sleepers, as in pre-unified cab/sleepers. Even a lightweight is huge compared to that!

You guys really don't know how cushy you have it! :biggrin_2559:

Hey man, I'm just here to learn and share...
    I appreciate your respectful response.

I've read multiple articles saying on the eco49 lightweight fleet max payload is between 49-50k.
That's the basis of why I think what I do.

If you're out there with a lightweight truck.. you see BILLS of Lading everyday.
If you truly see on your bills it says you have 55K worth of product that you're carrying then well those articles I read must be wrong.
Must be having those tandems really way back there...

Redoctober, thank you for the pictures. I was curious about the storage capacities on the lightweights. I really like your setup with a few mods to fit what i would want/need. I think instead of the big fridge, ill get one of those smaller 12v coolers. Maybe i could keep the p/s then (hoping to convince the wife to go on a run or two sometime) Also, how is sleeping with the shelves at the foot of the bed? Ever kick it? The one thing i dont see is a tv/laptop. Do you have one? I thought about just getting one of those small portable dvd players with the screen on it...less space taken up plus it will run on rechargeable batteries which opens a plug...do you have the optional apu unit in your rig? Sorry for all the questions, im just a heavy researcher. Also if you dont mind, could we chat pm?

Well thankee kindly! Just don't go buyin' me flowers.

Please! Look at the file path at the top of the page. This was posted in the Prime forum... kinda hard for me to be pickin' on you over here.

If you'd been paying attention you'd have seen the page describing the drivers fitness plan.

ROTFLMAO!! That's a good one rookie! You don't "upset" me in the slightest. You may have a future in comedy! LOL!!!

Correcting the misstatements, exaggerations and downright lies spread about this carrier doesn't make me a cheerleader. Posting bull crap from the truckerslies website as if it was truth does smell of trolling though.

I believe the bulk of your rant just made my point. Thanks!

    :)

Umm... you ain't got that figured out yet???:biggrin_25521:

Being I'm a Reefer driver and am next to Prime at many shippers I'll take some pictures of their drivers and show just how well they're on a fitness plan lol.
There no one company where there no fat drivers.
Flatbed I've seen the least, you can't be lazy and do flatbed.

The statements that I make are based off of Prime's website, when I spoke to them, articles written about them and what other drivers have said.
I'm just not randomly making stuff up, I posted sources to what I've said a lot, including articles written about the eco49 fleet.
If I'm wrong, so be it.. then the information out there is incorrect.
But when others drivers said they're governed at 57 and you say 62... what am I to believe?

Try someone who's driven for the carrier for quite some time.

    BTW... it's 58 and 62.
