Thanks for all the advice! I've contacted other companies just to see what's available to me. Tonythetruckerdude, I see what you mean about the u-turns. Thanks for the sound advise. I'll wait and see what the future holds for me and my family. But I think the best thing will be to move to another company.

I can tell you one thing, if any one of those things were true (except one), they should have fired the guy. Can't say they are true because I wasn't there.

I had one today pulling into the frinkn' fuel lanes when I was fueling up. the idiot was texting and not paying attention to where he was headed, left a skid mark next to the pumps when he realised he overshoot them.

The one exception is the top bunk thing, sorry but that's your fault, you need to secure yourself in because you should expect to move at any time unless it is parked for the night for a reset.

The top bunk thing was because neither of us can drive without the other being on duty. He moved the truck after we both fell asleep for our 10 hour break. We weren't supposed to move. So I didn't buckle the harness. I get where you are coming from though, ridgeline. And he isn't a trainer or employed with the company any more. I was sent home and he was brought back to the yard to turn in his keys.

With a list like you posted, I probably would have said something, too. I'd give 'em another week, and then I'd start a serious search.
The former "trainer" might be badmouthing you to anyone who will listen, so I'd be wary of that.

    Good luck!

My advice would be to look for other options. Take whichever comes first be it a new trainer or a new job. Btw, I agree that your trainer was practicing bad skills. It's your CDL. Never let anyone intimidate you into doing something that is unsafe or against the law.
