Had a kid on a crotch rocket fly by me on I-5 south of Seattle last summer then cut me off and hit the brakes and turned around to see what kind of carnage he had started. There's a reason it says Dodge Ram on that p/u I drive. It was obvious to him it was a bad idea for his health. Go ahead make my day. 🙈

Who would have thought driving a truck would be so dangerous. This is nothing new, years ago, kids would drop stuff off overpasses. Some kid dropped a watermelon (I think) off an overpass on a truck on I-43 in Wis. few years back, shattered the windshield, and the guy went in the ditch and overturned. When they caught the kid, he was horrified at what happened, never thought that would happen. It's important, if anybody see's that to try and get a plate #. People have been trying to get money out of trucks for years.

This would put the truck driver in a very bad situation for several reasons.

Most of the time if you rear end someone, it is your fault. The law saws you have to have control over your vehicle at all times.

However there is no reason for someone to slam on their brakes, unless to avoid a collision.

This is even more reason to back off and increase following distance.

A dash cam or eye witnesses would be the only defense to prove someone did this intentionally.

I read a few months back in Las Vegas, they had a few companies that hired unemployed people to pile up in a car and try to cause an accident with a semi so they can get a lawsuit and insurance claim

If I remember correctly, this also had a medical practice involved in it.

Run them over, dead people can't sue.

On a serious note, many states now have laws about cutting off trucks, even saw a billboard today about causing an accident for insurance purposes will result in jail time.

    That's why I carry a dash cam.

A good friend of mine a few years back had a jack-hole in a new pickup truck (still had the temp tags) brake check him. He got whoa'd up enough to keep out of the guy. Gets back up to speed and the guy does it again. Once again, hard on the brakes and avoids getting into him. Up to speed one more time and it happened again...only this time my friend buried the throttle and knocked the tar out of the fool. Pulled off on the side of the road & had a good laugh while waiting for the cops to show up.

When the cops arrived, my friend politely explained to the officer what had happened (leaving out the part about mashing the gas...simply stated "these trucks just don't stop on a dime"). The other guy was upset, and was cussing out the cop and everybody else. Guy in the pickup wound up with a reckless driving ticket and was sitting there waiting on a wrecker (not much left of the back of his truck) when my friend was turned loose.

Attitude plays a huge role in how things are going to play out. Be polite and respectfully explain your side of what happened, and let the cards fall where they may. Be as honest as you can without offering up any incriminating information, and be sure to explain in detail everything the other person did to cause the wreck and how there wasn't anything you could've done to avoid it. You might get a ticket...but then again you might not.

July 14/2014 I stopped on NB I94 to call army reserve office to get gate info.so I can deliver fuel tanker .here comes a car parks front of me ,walks towards me .I thought he is lost or something. It turns out that he claims that I hit him and took of his right side mirror .I simply told him that call the cops I want to know how the cops will explain to me that my 5' high flat bed trailer managed to took his mirror so cleanly, without touching the rest of the small car that he was driving? I said if you don't call them I will . He took off so quickly that I could not get his tag # But son of a b.... filed against my insurance. My insurance adjuster called me and asked WHAT HAPPENED After I told her the story I newer heard back yet.
