I don't mind tarping I get paid 70 plus for tarping Im still new and was wondering why I had I tarp was the question since the material was in the rain. I like tarping sometimes for that extra pay I just wanted to know the logic behind the madness

If you're looking for logic... you're in the wrong industry. :biggrin_25523:

Road grime, protection from moisture, protection from cargo dislodging, uv damage protection, securement law (ct has a law about bricks: no brick racks -tarp it, or ticket and tarp it on the side of the road) , packaging protection, someone wants to know it didn't get seen on the highway coming in or out. Lot more reasons as well. Whole lot of the reasons things get tarped have to do with someone in an office "because I want it tarped, that's why"

Rain sitting out in the open is a lot different than a few hours at 70mph. Shrink wrap starts ripping off, rain gets whipped under the pallet, packing paper and cardboard gets wet, the shrink wrap gets even more lose, and next you know, you show up at the receiver with what's left of the shrink wrap neatly wrapped around your straps.

Just get better at tarping and it won't get under your skin taking 20 minutes to wrap it up first.

There is no method here, while yes there are some good answers and most of them are right the bottom line is JUST TARP, welcome to platforms. I've tarped in every weather condition I know of as I'm sure everyone here has. As well as everyone has looked at the load and said WHY?? Its just part of the job, and not a bad workout either
