Remember the old White "Road Commodes" (Road Commanders), or the "Cracker Box Jimmy", or even the "Emeryville IH"? Spend some time in those, that will tell you what a day be about.:yes2557::yes2557:
I am a very fortunate man...I never had to do a sentence in a Crackerbox Jimmy, a Road Commode or an Emeryville...but I did drive a conventional Emeryville (A.K.A., "ugly duckling",) for a while with a 318.

I drove the early Ford W series...that was a treat. Get into a CL 9000 after that and you felt like you were in a Lincoln Continental...lol.

How about the Dodge D1000 cabovers? Boy, they sure didn't waste much of anything building those. Just a square box with a piece of sheet metal with some gauges in it.

I just sold a 1973 IH Co4070A cabover last fall, with 131,000 original miles on her. Single axle moving company tractor, 318/13 speed. It was neat to have, but I wasn't feeling the love as much as I thought I would over that truck, so I sold it to a guy that pulls his IH antique tractors around to tractor pulls. He came here and bought it sight unseen, drove it to Buffalo, NY 350 miles, and thanked me twice for it...hahahaha, couldn't have gone to a better home really. That thing shifted awful, has that shift tower gearbox that always was sticky. I didn't like the way it shifted more than anything, so she had to go.

Here she was, on the trailer behind the Autocar at a show last year.

I have right about 2 million. Had my share of speeding tickets over 30 something years but license has been spotless for last 5-7 yrs. No accidents (knock on wood) in any of that time. Unless some tool backing into my parked truck 20 yrs. ago counts?

Better check the C.S.A. rules and regulations closely CAPTJB, :evil3: --- chances are that today that incident would be a point against you just for bein' involved in an accident that occurred through no fault of your own.

HeY!
Seriously!
Even I couldn't make up stuff like that,
and wouldn't even if I could.:biggrin_25512:

Well that's a deep subject. " pun intended " here goes bout half million conservatily , never even got a thanks from the bosses , and for most of that couldnt see any thanks in the paycheck either, And ya we know about arkanSassy. No offense to the drivers from there but the law there tend to stretch the grey area a lot into their financial favor, oh and one accident not at fault , was sitting still waiting the turn left and got clobbered in the face by someone cutting through two lanes of stopped traffic ,in 2005

made over a million with 2 different companies, have the plaques and t-shirts. made it to almost 4 million when I had an incident with a fuel pump and a 14wide load. No speeding tickets or log violations, but career isn't over yet.

Hi redimpss, well, I guess it's kind of a personal satisfaction thing. We, as truckers, get such little recognition for our jobs, that we like to take pride in something, and a million miles was kind of a milestone, of sorts, especially if it was done safely. Years ago, before interstates and 4 (or 6 or 8)lane highways were the norm, going through cities and towns, a million miles was a big deal. Now, running down an interstate for your entire career, isn't near as challenging as years ago on 2 lanes,( cities and towns, farm tractors, school buses, drunks coming at you, etc) and a million miles isn't as big a deal, although, I still recognize it as a milestone, regardless.

Good work LM, that's over 100K a year, and that's a lot of driving. Most I did in a year was 75, maybe 80K a year, but that was mostly local, but even still, it seemed like a lot.
