300 Gallon Fuel tank 150 on each side
how many miles can you travel before REFUELING?
I know some people have 140 gallon tanks also,
Some people have 100 gallon tanks
How do you fuel up and how many miles you run before filling?
Looking forward to this discussion

The size of your tanks doesn't effect your mpg. It can be kind of nice like I drove a truck with twin 250's for awhile doing local and only had to fuel once a week where others had to fuel every day. Of course extra weight involved.
I have twin 120 gallon tanks and considering switching to one and closing the other one off. Reason, I generally fuel once per day to get that shower anyways and it would help me stay lighter while tracking fuel mileage by filling to the top each time. -
remember, fuel has a weight increase.

I understand that but how many miles can you get of the TWIN 120/240 gallon tanks how MANY MILES ARE YOU GETTING BEFORE REFUEL?alds Thanks this.

well, the truck I am driving now I average 7.3 mpg, so 100 gallons gets me 730 miles on average. generally more than enough for a day for me. The truck I had with twin 250's got about 6.1 IIRC. you can never completely fill a tank, and never run it completely dry. So even with twin 250's you are looking at about 400 gallon fillups x 6.1 = 2440 miles.

Yeah that sounds about right I have 300 gallon tank
300x$3.75=$1125
300x6=1800mi
I was pretty much deciding if it would be feasable for me to upgrade,stay the same or downgrade
Only thing it would probably change would be the amount of times I fuel up -
I dunno, my tanks don't level right (common problem with International) and my truck has 870,000 so probly time to replace fuel lines, check valves, lifter pump, etc... part of the reason I want to just run off of one. make all that cheaper and I don't think it would be a problem for me to run off of one.
But I can see where a guy might like to have bigger tanks too. find the cheap stops and save time fueling everyday. -
Actually its more like 15-1600 I don't let it get too too low
But that's doesn't sound like a bad idea to redo a few things,couldn't hurt nothing
Definitely helps -
Cutting off a tank and just having one 100 gallon tank you must not run a lot?alds Thanks this.

I have 130 tanks, but as mentioned you can't run too low or it whirlpools and draws air and you can never completely fill. So yes, I would be limited to about 100 gal fill ups. It would be rare for me to have to fuel more than once a day. very rare. those days are way behind me friend ! (-;
